He studied Economic Statistics in Rome (Bachelor and Ph.D.) and has a M.Sc. in Econometrics achieved at the University of Amsterdam. His professional experience includes one year as a researcher at Carlos III university of Madrid, and several years as a Quantitative Analyst at BBVA bank. He is currently working at the Joint Research Centre as a Senior Researcher for the European Commission. His main interests are robust statistics and statistical models for international trade and for fraud detection.
